Experience the Best of Dartmoor’s Pubs & Ales

A Taste of History – Dartmoor’s Legendary Inns

Dartmoor National Park. An area of folklore, tales of hauntings and more legends than you can shake a stick at.
Also an area with some very fine country Inns and Public Houses. Us Devon folk like a good ale or cider after a hard day in the fields....
The Dartmoor Ale Trail Tour has been devised not as a pub crawl, more of a journey of appreciation and a way for those who are fans of local ales, ciders and other regional drinks as well as lovers of great country pub foods, fantastic hospitality and welcoming Inns in the South West to enjoy a day out that celebrates these factors.
Dartmoor has dozens of great establishments that date back to traders footpaths, field workers following the seasons work as well as the glorious days of horse and carriage transport and the infamous highwaymen that used to frequent the high moors tracks and trails. Gladly all banished to history....or are they....

The Dartmoor Ale Trail can start later into the morning to allow for a relaxed start and opening hours to unfold. Visiting a number of quality, tried and tested pubs and Inns (it's a tough job...) you can enjoy local ales, cider and various regional and seasonal produce to accompany your choices throughout the day. Interest driven stops to break up the day and short locational breaks to take in the surroundings at times. The tour will come to a close early or mid evening with a return to your chosen accommodation.
I, your guide, will obviously stay tea total and sober throughout the day and recommend and tailor to your tastes with suggested pubs and Inns that may suite group interest and taste.

A great way to experience Dartmoor and its hearty, welcoming public houses and Inns. Many of which have been in the same family under license for generations. A tour that is available all year round as the weather cannot dictate when you are warming your toes on an open fire in the winter, or enjoying the beer garden in summer sunshine. Also, a great tour for the dads and older sons whom want to experience a great day out without the hassle of the "desi driver" having to stay clean.
